I visited the Airforce museum Saturday to check it out having not been there since the 80's. They have greatly expanded the facility over the years and it is stuffed full of aircraft. Somehow they even managed to get a B52 in there!
What attracted my attention was the heavy use of LEDs in the displays. There were power LEDs mounted on arms illuminating the wall displays and strips inside many display cases. These had two neutral white 5mm LEDs with one amber LED to warm the light. These were arranged in long strips of several LEDs to illuminate the display.
Sunday, I do my usual shopping to stock the cupboards with food. In the freezer units, they had just replaced the fluorescent lamps with LEDs. They are off until a sensor detects you walking nearby. I've seen this used in a WalMart a couple years ago, but new at my local grocery store.
The LEDs are infiltrating!
