If you get an energizer aaa, and put it in an aaa too aa converter, what will that aaa converted to aa function like? would it work like a normal AA, be less powerful? or more powerful?

It'd be like a AA with less mAh. I think it'd have about 50% or less capacity.
I just checked and the e2 AA are 2900mAh and the AAA's are 1250mAh. So if you adapt the AAA to run in an
AA device it'll run the same just less than half as long.
In this case the AAA has 43% the capacity of the AA
