Hey everyone

I'm having a hard time find up to date information in terms of what is currently available while researching for a new keychain light so I've been forced to start a new thread. I currently have a red Preon 1 on my house keychain. I use to have a Fenix LD01 on my car keys, it was a good light, but I gave it to my father a few months ago as he desperately needed a decent light on his keys instead of the sad excuse for a light on a cheap multitool keychain that had to be a fraction of a lumen output. I couldn't stand watching him struggle to see using it and don't regret the choice at all. But I am now looking to replace that spot on my keys. I'm looking for light that has only 3 modes lo,med,hi or less would be ok. I do not want to cycle through strobe etc. I have other lights that have this feature and do not want to cycle through this.
The light will used primarily for looking around the inside of my car, putting a key in a lock and similar everyday close up needs. I will be using an eneloop battery in this light as I already have several.
I've been thinking it over and looking at the wear and tear on my Preon which has been on my main keys along with a bottle opener and a swiss army knife. I'll be moving the Preon to my car keys and looking for an SS or Ti light for main key ring. They will be able to stand up better to the abuse of that ring. It seems an SS LD01 is a lot harder to find now that I'm looking again. AAA light suggestions that come in SS or Ti would be appreciated. What SS or Ti lights are still out on the market that would fit my needs? Ideally available within Canada to avoid import duties.

cnqualitygoods has a couple of AAA stainless lights.
A clicky, and a twisty.

They also have a 2 cell AAA stainless penlight that I am a click away from getting.

I currently keep two penlights in a vinyl bag I keep clipped to the ashtray in my car. They are used for finding things in the car or so that passengers can read, while I drive.

The peak seems to keep popping up in thread after thread while I'm researching. I'll probably need to add it to my growing collection. Does anyone know of a good dealer in Canada?

The preon p0 and the dqg is perfect size for a keychain. I prefer the dqg over the p0. a mm longer than the p0, but has tir optic.
I got lots of exotic aaa lights to choose from, but for keychain duty, it's always a p0 or a dqg.

Like Jorn, I carry the DQG
DQG AAA IV World smallest CREE XP-G2 R5 4A NW Stainless Steel EDC Flashlight

I love the tint NW :) I never thought I would say that about a tint.

Fenix LD01??
While it isn't Titanium or SS, and eventually the finish will wear off. The finish seems stronger than most. It is also flexible on batteries. It is a micro flame thrower when you feed it 3.7 volts! Yeah yeah yeah, it heats up a little. But sure is impressive to friends.
I like to leave the head just a fraction loose. Then all I have to do is put my thumb down on the head and push and it will light up, kinda like a momentary feature. Don't worry, if it accidentally comes on in your pocket, you will feel it pretty quickly.

I also tricked out the tail area with a glow powder epoxy mix. It fills in nicely and makes finding keys easy in the dark. On one of mine, I drilled out the keyring holder a little so I could run a aircraft key ring through it. I like to attach a tritium key fob. Also a big ring allows me to run the ring around a finger and hold the TINY light easier.

If SS is a must. I love the DQG AAA IV, like Poppy said. Sweet light.

Anyways, just some ideas. Good luck on your search.

I haven't completed ruled out the alu LD01, it severed me well and is being used by my dad a lot and he really likes it. If I find an SS version I'm buying it for sure. If anyone knows who is selling an SS version please let me know. I should haven't purchased that one when I bought mine.
