Hi guys,
The Aleph 2 head which is the smallest of the series (at least at present! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif ) is now available, I guess. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

My plan was to have the heads I was going to build with be engraved but for reasons too numerous to identify and name completely, I have opted not to go with the engraving. Now I feel bad about stating that my intent was to have them engraved and if there is enough uproar, I will revisit the idea but under protest! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I believe I might have stated somewhere publically that the Aleph 2 head actually cost more than the Aleph 1. The head, reflector and window were all more expensive, even though they are smaller! I have absorbed most of this cost myself. I will be adding a $2 exchange price over the "stock" build. I will update the Custom Build Pricing thread in a little while.

OK, a coulple quick justifications to not having the head engraved:

1) I would rather put the limited funds towards real and needed components than the cosmetic issue. My intent was to absorb the cost of engraving but I can't really afford to do that at present.

2) I think everyone accepts the Aleph 1 being called the Aleph 1 as it was the first of the Aleph series. The identification of the Aleph 2 is somewhat confusing and there is a legitimate cloud over the naming of it.

3) There is a lead time issue as well as travel time in addition to the expense that works against me building some of these heads now and getting them out!

OK,
I need to go eat something so I'll end this post with a fimiliar picture (at least for some of you) of the Aleph 2 shown on a 1x123 power pak.

When I win that one, I'll swipe the picture for my site as well. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I personally, can live without engraving. In fact, I prefer "clean" lights.

Hola Don,
This is fine I'm sure my Aleph 2 will light up just fine without the engraving /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif. Maybe since the added trip to the engravers is out I might get my treasure sooner /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif ?
Keep-em bright in the night,
Jeff

Don, you can save another trip & further costs by making 'em all bare /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif Hmm, interesting cloud formations in Berkeley today.

The Shoppe is just handling the standardized HA-Black(or Dark Gray if you will)

Don,
If you have time /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif, pls post pic of Aleph-2 head with or without power packs versus other SF-E-series compatible heads -- SF KL1/ SF-E1x/ McLux / L1 / PR-T / etc.
I'm interested on the comparative size and looks. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
