Aleph Customisation Advice Needed

$35+ is only for V binned or W binned. X binned will cost you even more. It's more rare than a diamond.

Ok, here's my story:
I'm currently waiting for the new KL-1 to be sent to me and I bought the McGizmo's "host" for it meaning a 1 cell body with the 15 ohms tailcap. The problem is that I don't want the KL-1 anymore and will order an Aleph head instead. I just don't know wich exact configuration and the amount of information and technichal details about them is making me dizzy! I'm not to good about that stuff and don't have the time to do incredible research and study. I was thinking of an Aleph II head with a Lux III in it that I would use on both a 1 cell and a 2 cells body(E2e) depending on my needs. All I want is for it to be bright. I realize that there is probably no easy answer to my question but there must be some sort of "classic" one...

Get an Aleph 2 with a NG500 and you will have a great and good running light on that host. The dark gray-black head looks good in contrast on the HA-Nat. This head will not work on the E2e but with an hout and a half of runtime on high, you really don't need the 2x123 power pack, IMHO.

You can only use LuxIII's with the NexGens. The NexGen 750 will be brighter with less runtime. If you plan to use it in constant on for long periods, I would recommend less power. The only reason I could think of wanting the higher power for long periods of use is that you need to illuminate targets more distant. If this is the case, go up in reflector diameter and down in current; I.E. an Aleph 1 with a NexGen 500. Now if you want the high level in intermittant use and will be using the low for long runs, the NG750 is a good choice on the Aleph2. I prefer the higher powers for high but I don't use the lights in high for long durations. A small light like this is not typically a "walk about" light. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif JMHO and you need to decide what your needs as well as wants are! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Ok, this is my very last question before I order: What would be the difference in runtime with the NexGen 750 vs 500?

probably at least 15 minutes on a single cell, the 500 will be dimmer though.

That's a pretty small difference of runtime...is the brightness noticably more on the 750? If it is that's what I'd go for since I usually use my lights on low anyway. It would be nice to know that there is something very bright available if needed! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
