Aleph - E-series LEGO question

I have an Aleph McClickie-Mule with a cree GDuP and would like to know:

1: Is it possible to put this light engine in an aleph head so that I can get a more "traditional" type of light output?

2: What exactly would I need to accomplish #1?

3: Will this entail merely screwing the LE into whichever head I feel like using at the time?

Or, would I be better off trying to get my hands on a surefire E1L head?

All you need is an Aleph 19 head McR-19xr reflector and screw the gdup in for a sweet little spot light.:thumbsup:

Well, the XR-E Can, MCPCB 650 with a Cree was put together to go in an Aleph 19 head using an Mcr19XR reflector. The Shoppe has Aleph 19 heads for sale. Just make sure change the reflector option to the Mcr19XR and your GDuP Cree XR-E Can LE should screw in and fit fine.

I could be wrong so wait for a few more folks to chime in to make sure.

You can fit that L.E. in any Aleph system has long has you use the proper reflector. The McR series reflectors compatible with Cree, usually have "XR" designation at the end, you want to use those reflector with your L.E. Good luck!

Cool! So For an Aleph 1 you buy an Mcr27XR, right? It`s a .030" shorter version of the Mcr27L for LONG so it is too long. Did Don make an Mcr20XR for the Aleph 2 head??? I didn`t get any. I don`t see any Mcr20XR or Mcr38XR for an Aleph 3 at the Shoppe or in Don`s Mcrxx thread HERE or in Don`s Index of reflectors HERE ???? I always miss out on the good stuff!

Like I said... "has long has you use the proper reflector".. I guess my answer was a little too broad. Like my friend Kenster here is trying to imply, not all XR version reflectors will fit in all Aleph heads...I actually found that out the hard way... Those links Kenster provided are a good source of info..read on.

That Aleph 19 kit comes with everything you need...Just add your Cree LE and presto, let there be light.. That head is designed for the 19mm reflector, which is included in the kit.
