Is there a way for me to set up a two stage Aleph head that changes modes like an XR19-C or L1T so that I can select low or high before I turn the light on?

I do not believe that this is easily done.
You may want to look into the new 3 level driver which for sale in the shoppe.

I have Alephs which are dual level with the drive current determined by a resistor in the tail switch.
Good luck and please post your findings here so we can all learn from your experience would you develop some new technique or something I am sure many will be interested.

I wouldn't want to do it, but you could theoretically have a McE2S tailcap, and have it turned to high or low, and then engage the light by turning the head. :duck: This, of course, would mean that the head wouldn't be very securely fastened, as Aleph/E-series lights aren't really meant to be used that way.

You're always 1-2 clicks away from the level you want on a GDuP or a FluPIC. ;)

Good luck!

Thank you for your help. My preference is to have the level selected before turning the light on. I may be able to live with a multiple click setup, but I haven't tried it yet. If the Alephs really don't do that, then that's fine. I'm not expecting the hardware to do more than it's designed to, I just wanted to know if there was anything designed like that. Am I right in thinking the XR19-C works that way?
