Lack of time is my other reason for not making it myself. My wife and I both work full-time and we have three kids. Not much time for hobbies, except the occasional flashlight mod or backpacking trip.

But since many road taxes are collected from gasoline tax, the brilliant state governments decided there should be a surcharge on any vehicles that achieved excellent mileage. So in those states, there is a penalty for saving gasoline. All hybrid drivers must pay this "penalty." EV drivers would too, if any EVs existed in those states.Originally posted by Tree:
