Hello there!

It's been a while, but i have yet again fallen in to the lovely bog that is flashlights....

I bought an surplus ex-army flashlight kit, M8252-134010 Handlampa Amröj/S
As far as i can figutre out it must have been used in UXO-operations (unexploded ordanance)
It is a lovely piece of kit that i'd love to get working again, but alas the old batteries (NiCd) are stone dead after being in storage for years.

Any ideas, hints, tips&tricks you could provide would be most appreciated :)

All the BEST!
Magnus

PS! I have emailed the company for any info...

Have you popped open a battery pack yet? You may be able to replace the cells with new nicads with tabs, and solder together cells in whatever configuration is needed.

My understanding is that there are places who will connect tabbed cells in order to make a battery pack, but I haven't used any of their services.

Yeah Steve K. It would probably best to leave the configuration well alone. my desire to upgrade to NiMH or something a bit more 2016 will have to take the back seat this time... And there is no knowing how the internal circuit boards and the charging system would work if batteries are replaced.
20W halogen will have to do nicely :)
