Been a while since I've posted but have been keeping an eye out on you guys once in a while. I've noticed several newer flashlights that have caught my attention lately. One of them is the Zebralight H501w. I like the runtime, the difference between the modes, the push button instead of the twisty and the size.

Anyone know if this company has any plans to make this model with a front LED instead of the side? Not with a reflector like everyone else, but with maybe a small focusing lens of some type to give it a little less flood?

Does anyone else here think this would be a good ideal?

My H501w gets more use than any of my other lights. It's on my head right now, illuminating my keyboard. :D
I would love to see Zebralight make more lights, but they don't need to mess with the 501w; it's pretty much perfect the way it is.

Your question would probably get more answers if posted in the headlamp section, or at least it will stay on the current page longer than it would here. I too use my H501 more than my other lights. I replaced the bulky factory clip with a Fenix clip and made my own headband. I carry the light, the headband and a Maratac aaa light in my shirt pocket everywhere I go. You can't do this with the factory clip and headband because they are too bulky. Remember the saying "the best tools are the ones you have with you when you need them"

I expect Zebralight to continue making great products in the future.

The only problem I found with the H501w is the switch "click" needs to be really fast, almost like a tap. I had trouble with the UI until I realised this. Other than that, great little light.

Cheers,
Nova

I would say send them an email to ask. You never know what hey might say, but seeing their line-up until today, I think you are out of luck, at least for now.

I don't have the H501(w) myself but I do have the H60W and together with my Lummi Raw (also warm) these two are my most used torches. And as soon as they hopefully/finally have an H30W, I'll get that one as well. But they already told me they had no such plans in the near future...:thumbsdow

I too have an issue with the included pocket clip which I find way to bulky and it is too loose. In my case the pocketclip is more of a loose hook... it will hang but not hold. tried bending it into the correct shape but it did not work well.

My opinion on a Zebralight with a front LED? In that case I would never have considered purchasing it at all. In this case, get a lumapower D-mini and use it without the head... Or any other torch which can be used without the head. I did this for many many months (with the D-mini) and got tired of it and got the Zebra instead.

Sure, it's a good idea, but it would probably look too much like a conventional flashlight to be worth the hassle. If you want a just-slightly-larger-than-AA-sized flashlight there are plenty of other to choose from. Though competition and hard to make a product that really stands out.

Side mounted LED enables zebralight to be used and worn in several more ways than a conventional flashlight, IMO. Stick with that winning formula, or at least that's what I would do if I made the zebras.

I had planned on buying a T1A but decided to hold out until Zebralight releases a conventional mini-flashlight. I love their products, so I'm sure whatever they come up with will be great.

This is a thread about Zebralight, you must either use the search function, to see if your questions have perhaps already been answered, or start a new thread with an explicit title.

Meanwhile, the coclusion of all the answers you'd get if correctly posted :

Buy both!!!

The Fenix L0D/LD01 clip fits reasonably well and is an improvement over the standard bulky clip. It can also slide into the silicon headlamp bracket, although you can't rotate it easily anymore.

I'd like to see a 3 mode AAA forward firing all flood with a "right angle adapter" to convert it to a headlamp with mostly flood.
