Any more 1AA lights that take D26 drop-ins?

Besides the out-of-production FiveMega 1xAA, what other 1xAA lights or bodies can accept D26 (P60) drop-ins? Put another way, what D26-capable lights are designed to use a single AA? I can't think of a single one.

I suppose one could buy a 18500 body that uses a D26 head, but the AA will rattle around unless secured in a tube or wrapper.

Derelight javelin is the only one I am aware of.

**edit**
You know what... now I am not sure. I was positive it could be de-lego'd and reduced to a 1AA size. Now I am not sure. let others chime in on this one.

The Dereelight C2H (1xCR123A by default) can have a 1xAA extender added, and can also accept the Javelin head.

So unless I'm missing something, C2H + AA extender + Javelin head = 1xAA P60.

Probably.

Indeed, it can; thanks. With a diameter of 14.1mm, the AA cell will rattle, but not nearly as much as it would rattle in a FiveMega 18xxx tube, whose inner diameter is 19.1mm. thanks.

trustfire B6.....found in KD....

plastic p60 lens/module ring (p60 comes in from the front) and plastic switch retainer in the tailcap (not critical)...otherwise is well made mismatchig HAIII too..

Paul,

The extender is narrower and keeps the cell from rattling around. I plan to get several more extenders and bodies then have some extenders opened up to take 17500 cells.

I use the Nizn cells as well and they make a significant difference in brightness compared to a single eneloop.

I run a Solarforce L2M with a 3 Mode low voltage (0.8-4.2v) solarforce dropin with centre (positive) spring removed. Fits a single eneloop in quite well.

Whoa... this one was sitting right under my nose (literally).

I have been thinking about using an 18500 or 17500 cell in mine to extend L2M run times. With a 16340 theres a LOT of uncompressed spring length in this host, I think that can be put to better use.

14500=17500=18500 = AA length !!!

OP this is probably your best bet. Roll up some paper to fill up the gap.

You know this is odd, our old friends in the far east sold a P60 1AA light for a while, now it's alaways out of stock, I wish I had grabbed a few when they had them.

I'd also like a cheap (ish) 1C P60 light to mod and play with.

the trustfire light i mentioned is exactly this...

a small correction...the model is Tr-C6 NOIT B6 as I noted before....

Oh yes, your right!

But it's available at KD, I think I'm going to buy a couple, thanks for the link.
Now what to build? I think I'll build a dropin with a XP-G powered by a RV7 type driver. How many lumens does an XP-G put out at 700mA ? :)

but where are you going to find an 700ma RV7? the ones se;;s are actually 350mA....

if you do find tell me too, but I am more oriented to aBB NextGEn or a madmax....I am working on a way to mount it on a P60 module....

easy way out is a Dereelight low voltage dropin though....

Also, I bought this flashlight as a sample of the perfect outdoors light....1AA/1x14500 and as big reflector as needed....add a zebralight and you are done!

Dereelight XPG R5 on 1xAA vs. 3xAA

Today I received my 0.9-4.2V XP-G R5 3-mode D26 dropin from Dereelight. I immediately installed it in my FiveMega 1xAA host with Solarforce head and NiZn AA (1.6V at 1 amp).

I don't yet have beam shots, but I've tested it inside and outside, comparing it with my Dereelight 2.8-4.2V 3xAA (NiMH, 3.7V total at 1 amp) here's what I can tell you:

- The 0.9-4.2V drop-in is bluer. It made the 2.8-4.2V version look warm.
- The 0.9-4.2V drop-in with 1 NiZn cell appears to have about 80% of the output of the 2.8-4.2V drop-in with 3 NiMH cells. The beam profile (hot spot diameter and corona diameter) looks the same.
- The 3 modes seem well-spaced.

Long before the Trustfire model was available, I bought several of the Xlights (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14226) that seem to be identical. I recently tried to order these from BestOfferBuy.com @ $24 each (http://www.bestofferbuy.com/xlight-...ilcap-silicone-bezel-pads-114500-p-13235.html), but they were unavailable and BOB offered to substitute the Trustfire.

Re: Dereelight XPG 0.9-4.2V tint

I believe the low-voltage drop-in is a 1B tint. Is the higher-voltage drop-in supposed to be the same tint?
According to Dereelight's module list, both the 0.9-4.2V and 2.8-4.2V versions come from the R5 bin. At the bottom of the list we find, "XP-G R5- 1B tint. Since all Dereelight XP-G dropins are R5, there should be no difference from model to model.
