Anyone have any pics of a fenix p1 and a peak led Caribbean side by side?
I currently have the p1 on my keychain but I am thinking of trying out the caribbean instead.
Thanksin advance

I don't have a P1 for comparison but her is a Caribbean next to a couple of common batteries. Not really a keychain light IMHO.

Hey! Sorry for the image...I just took it with my cell phone. Hope it helps! BTW, this is the P1, not the P1D, as you asked for. The P1D is a shade longer. Also, the Caribbean has the momentary switch installed. If you're going to put this on your keyring, I would recommend the HAIII, which is MUCH lighter. They almost feel like two different lights when comparing the Stainless Steel and the HAIII together.

Norm,

Great pic! I need to learn how to take pics like yours! I'm trying to learn to use proper lighting (sunlight, artificial, etc).

Great job! :twothumbs

Ditto as to size. Replaced my ARC AAA with a P1 on my keychain, but it didn't last too long because of its size. And the Caribbean (keychain) is a good deal larger than the P1 (except in the pocket variation of the Caribbean which is pretty short). The bulky 123 cell just doesn't lend itself well to keychain use. Wanting output similar to the P1 but in a smaller package I next went to the PEAK Baltic P4 in AAA/10440, which was and is absolutely great. Now, however, you can get very high output in an even more carryable form with the beautifully made PEAK Eiger built around a Rebel 0100 using AAA/10440 (or several other battery configurations if you choose).

Thanks for that pic. It really helped, and I don't mind the extra length

You're welcome! Great! The Caribbean is a great light made by very nice people. Which material are you going to get? They make HAIII in black, brass, Stainless Steel, and Titanium (not sure if they still make the Titanium).

I'm going to go with the haIII model with the removeablle keyring attachment.

My fenix keeps turning on in my pocket. It's happened a few times. I think it's got to do with the threads, but I have had peak lights before and never had one of them turn on in my. Pocket.

The Caribbeans are great lights. BTW, you could marry a HAIII body to either a stainless or brass head. A bit heavier, but sure do look nice. MWClint has posted some great FrankenPeak pictures.

I tried to post a wtb ad looking for a Caribbean but it wouldn't let me for some reason. Is anyone willing to post. Wtb ad for one for me?, or does anyone know websites that sell them?, or should I go with one of the new nitecore ez123's which is about half the price of the caribbean, and has 180 lumens which I think is more than the Caribbean.
What do you think?
Thanks

Did you register on the Market Place Forum? It's on a different server, so it must be done in addition to being registered on Candlepowerforums.

If you just recently signed up over there, they have a waiting period for new members to post. I'm not sure how long the waiting period is, but it's to ward off spammers. All the info is in one of Greta's stickies posted at the top of the CPF Marketplace.

Good luck,
MK

That's strange. Can you PM her from CPF and tell her it's in regards to CPFMP? Or maybe PM a Moderator?

P.S. I just noticed you've been a member since 2003! :twothumbs nice :D
