I'm looking for a small pocket light that uses a single AAA battery and a non Nichia LED. Something with a better color temperature. Perhaps a cree. Not necessarily looking for BRIGHT, but perhaps a little better than the Arc AAA.

Fenix L0D-CE. The only multi-mode AAA Cree light that I know of, so you can choose how much light you want

I'd personally recommend the LiteFlux LF2 - it's not quite as bright as the L0D CE, but it can go much dimmer (you can program the light levels), and it has many more modes if you want, and I prefer the UI over the LOD - on the LF2 a fully tightened head is off, loosen a quarter turn to get low (or high if you set it that way), and another quarter turn gets you high, whereas on the L0D you need to repeatedly turn the light on and off to switch modes.

I've been out of the light hobby for a while now. I'm not sure what the LiteFlux LF2 is, or where to find them. I also haven't heard of the Seoul before.

Any info on those would be great. :)

Here you go. A few threads to read through:

It's not quite as pretty as the Fenix L0D-CE and with both on a 10440 LiIon cell, I believe the L0D-CE is brighter, but I also quite value reasonable brightness levels and the Liteflux is more accomodating in that regard.
