Anybody been to the San Diego Wild Animal Park?

Hi guys, debating whether or not to take the wifey there tomorrow (Saturday). I see on their Web site that there are a lot of optional tours for $35 and up. Looking for trip reports, recommendations, or whatever!!

Oh, and flashlight carry recommendations. ;-)

I was there 4 years ago and yes it's worth the visit. Reminds me of the old Marine World/Africa USA that was in Redwood City. There were some very good dinosaur animatronics if they still have them.

There isn't a need for a flashlight, so I'd say take a small one for backup.

I was there a couple of years ago. It does get hot there so bring a good water bottle with ice.

I recommend the tour as well. You get to climb on a truck and get closer to the animals.

I went a long time ago as a kid. I remember the tram ride over the animals. I think that's more fun than zoos.

I keep wanting to go back, but never get around to it.
