anybody have the stainless steel solarforce l2m?

I know it is heavy but otherwise how do you like it? I know ss doesn't sink heat away like al but is it good enough to handle an r5 using the extension tube and 2 x imr16340?
How come nobody makes chrome flashlights any more? They used to be THE most popular when I was a kid. I love my bling. Definitely not the stealthy tactical type.

Got an L2M SS and I like it a lot for its bling and also the hefty weight. Using two RCR123 to power my single mode 1.5a r5 drop in but I don't run it too long coz the light heats up fast and takes time to cool down not unless I put it in a cooling fan and use it again when the light is cool. .

I got one just for the bling. I have the Thrunite 1.5A R5 and as far as heat goes, it seems to handle it fine. It gets way too hot though when using 2.5A drop ins from Nailbender. Also build quality is not as good as the L2P, unless I just got unlucky with my L2M SS.

A couple rough edges that scratched me which I had to file, the spring in the tailcap is angled, and I'm not sure how to explain this but something is wrong with the threads. When removing the tailcap or the head, it's difficult to screw back on sometimes, I have to remove it and try again.

I bought mines from Ligthound and probably just got unlucky.

Got mine at lighthound also. Mine's doesn't have a problem as you described. Maybe you got a lemon.
