i ordered from them and it came in a couple days. fast shipping

well what can i say, this is my first led flashlight, and i didnt wanna spend a ton of cash. with the discount (im not sure its workin anymore) it was under 10 bux shipped.

to me this thing dumps out quite a bit of light for what it is, i am sure its not at all competitive with the higher dollar offerings everyone else is posting about on here.

does anyone have any info on this thing?

Thanks!

oh ya anyone reccomend where i can get some good batteries for this thing? :)

welcome aboard.

you bought a flood monster there. it's a start. you're right, it won't compete with the hi-power Cree/SSC LEDs most guys on CPF buy.

to experience a less expensive hi-powered LED, why not look at the Fenix flashlights (check out FenixStore or BrightGuy.com if you're in the good ol' USofA).

as far as inexpensive alkaline batteries go, here are some URL's to check out:

If you're looking to get into lights seriously you'd be far better off with some decent rechargeables (eneloops or similar LSD NiMH cells) and a charger (here although it says only use soshine batteries, that's BS)

I'd recommend an RC-G2 with all associated mods for your next light, though this will only work well with a rechargeable battery.

Hold onto you wallet and good luck :D

The light is pretty floody and blue isn't it?

3AAA batteries is one of the most common battery selection for lower priced lights. That is because the light probably has a resistor at most and will dim continuously over it's runtime. Rechargeable batteries would be better.

Well, for a bit more then the light, I would get the RC-N3, RC-G2, C3 Stainless Steel, MTE 5 mode, RC-H3, MTE 5-mode Q5(might be a bit of a strech price wise), MTE AA Seoul....

Shipping takes around 2 weeks to a month though.

A high power LED, especially the current gen ones(Cree XR-E P4-R2 bin, Seoul P4 U-bin, Seoul P7 C-bin, Luxeon Rebel 80 and 100 bin, Luxeon TFFC K2 180+ bin), should have no problem beating 50-100 5mm LEDs in output. With a halfway decent reflector, they would beat the LEDs in throw too.

What you have now might be a good place to start.(IMO a bit too expensive for what it is though).

johnzm, :welcome: you'll find plenty of good information here. Hope you get to find your favorite light.

Believe it or not, my lady bought a light at her local Staples a couple of months back that looks just like yours. She's getting her MBA now, so she's living on campus. I offered to give her or buy her a flashlights, but she didn't like mine. :faint: She said they were too complicated. I got to play with the light a little ... the tint is so purple. I guess she thinks it's pretty.
