So I come across this interesting auction listing for a 1800~2100Lm LED, supposedly from Cree featuring 12 dies/chips and a Vf of 10~12.5v & I thought this would really make a weapon in the right application or even a really nice driving lamp for automotive applications... only I can't find it mentioned on their website try as I may (though I am domestically blind :p) anyone familiar with this product? or perhaps even it's thermal pathway requirements?

Webshop offering these for sale - HERE & HERE

can't even see the LED for all the reflections in the glass, so i think its a con job, send the $32 and they send you literally 12 single die LEDs

That may not be made by Cree.
Could be somebody else assembling an LED using Cree dies.

EDIT
From the 1st link IIRC CPF members used to buy 5mm LEDs in 100 packs from LCK.

I went browsing through the site. The LED is listed in the OTHER HP LEDs section, NOT the Cree section.

That definitely does not look like a Cree design. Looks like they just bought a generic plastic lens and glued it down over the dies to make it look like it has an encapsulant.:shakehead

looks like 12 dice, slathered in phosphor, with an aspheric epoxied on top. I dunno. Even the top picture was hard to judge.

A search of Cree's site for the model number listed on one page found nothing. A search for the exact phrase "12 die" found nothing. It does look like an interesting unit with a lot of output for the price. Here's a straight on pic but I seriously doubt Cree manufactures this:
