Anyone have the new Fenix TK11 R2?

Does anyone have their TK11 R2 as yet, mine has already shipped and now am waiting. Since this is my first TK series flashlight I would like to know if there will be any major difference.

I ordered mine through fenix gear and should be here Saturday since they are in NY. They also gave a discount of 5 dollars on a purchase of 30 dollars or more if ordered before Dec 17 . Wooo Hoooo !!!!!

Hey,
I got mine Thursday from FenixGear delivered to MI. I ordered late Monday night. They have good prices, I got an additional 5 dollars off and they donate to relief efforts. Anyways...

The light is bright. I'm used to the output of my original Fenix P1. I'm also used to the tint and the TK11 R2 is different as I mentioned here. Physically, the light body is the TK11. Even the packaging is the same except for a couple of stickers to cover old text. I also bought a TK20 and the white diffusers. The diffusers are good for dark, high or no cielings or as wands (w/loss in light.) Otherwise, using open lights in candle mode is better in an eight foot ceiling.

Tactical lights have come a long way since I've bought my Surefire 6P at least 9 years ago and then later fitted with an SF P61 lamp (20 minutes @110 Lumens.)

Question Se7en, I just received my TK 11 R2 today. The box it came in had the stickers on it covering the old TK 11 info. My question is does your TK 11 R2 say just Fenix TK 11 on the actuall flashlight and not Fenix TK 11 R2 ? How do I tell if i got an Actuall R2 edition and not the normal TK 11 ? My light has Fenix TK 11 on it no R2 anywhere. I think u pay a little extra it should at least say the R2 somewhere on the light to let you know what you paid for is the actual model :sigh::thinking:

The body says Fenix TK11. I guess you will just have to take their word on it that it is an R2 not I think they will try to cheat us. I don't have the first version but the only difference that I can see from my light and the first light is that the first one has two holes for a spanner wrench (photo labeled: Head (rear view)) and mine has four. The two holes in the photo are where mine are plus two more making four corners.

Is your LED centered? Mine is a little off.

I see what you are talking about. I guess we have to see if other people bought this light and hopefully post more feedback on it. From what i can see the led looks pretty much on center. Hope for the best.

I bought my from fenixgear on Thursday from NJ and received it yesterday. Talk about fast service. This is the 3rd Fenix I purchased from them and they always get here quickly. Compare to my TK11, the R2 seems to be more white. There is a o-ring behind the bezel also look different. I like the R2 much better.

I just try to order another as gift but they are out of stock. I also check with 4sevens and they are also out. Anyone can tell me where else I can get it?

I called fenixgear this morning about the R2. Apparently they still got a small reserve quantity. I was able to persuade them to part with one since I am their repeat customer. They said it will ship out today and based my experience with them it should be here in 2 days.

I asked them why the shortage and they told me that Fenix has limited supply of Cree R2 LED and there are very limited quantity available in the U.S.

Hope you will find your R2 too.

I search on eBay and Amazon and found R2 available on both sites. eBay listings ship from Hong Kong which might take longer to get here in case you need it before Xmas.

Flashlight Store from Amazon at this time has four left in stock. I decided not to buy another because it would not get to me before Christmas in a cheap delivery. I'll just wait till later. I'll order from Fenix Gear again.

It seems that I was overly optimistic about getting R2 version at all. Matt from 4-7 just contacted that it's not sure if R2 version will be available anymore. Oh well, lights come and go and I guess I'm not jumping TK bandwagon after all..

Mostly seems to be that the R2 has a lower Vf, and hence stays in regulation longer on a single 18650.

I just noticed that fenixgear will have more R2 to ship by 12/24. Too bad I won't be able to get them in time for Xmas gift.
