Anyone mod an Eternalight?

Has anyone modded an Eternalight with brighter LED's? Maybe with GS LED's or something. If so, how much brighter did it become? Was runtime reduced?

I put SMJLEDs into an Eternalight and its little brother the Derringer.

It is quite a bit brighter, visually more than double, with a whiter tint - well worth the effort.

I can't comment on runtime but it still runs a long time.

My Eternalight X-Ray is from 2001 or 2002, and therefore using veritable antiques for LEDs... I may have to look into this mod. The one thing that does get me is that these SMJLeds are 80ma, but I don't know the original current in the X-Ray... will that be a problem if the current the SMJLeds are rated for is substantially higher?
