The original bulb says 4.8v. The 3v LED bulb (I assume) from a bike light seems to work. This is a simple screw in mod/upgrade. Real glass lens. Metal grip, plastic gears. Over and under engineered like most Russian manufacturing. Mostly practical.

Durability is dubious. I used one years ago. It will wear out even with non aggressive usage.
