I'm waiting on some better li-ion options to come about for my mag85... In the mean time i'm using 9xAA nimh's in a FM carrier...

I have an AWR hotdriver to keep my bulb from extreme voltage.... However, i was curious if Energizer Lithium primaries can handle the current of the 1185 bulb...

Anyone ever do this?

Thanks

Are you refering to cr123's?
Just be really careful about that. If you get one or two cells that aren't matched well, that could become a big problem. Especially on a light like the mag85 that's drawing a lot of current.

no... i'm talking about AA lithium primaries...

jar3ds,

Way back in the first experiments with the Mag85, Ginseng, the originator of the light, used AA Lithium cells.

They'll run the light, grudgingly, but they will do it. However, it's an expensive proposition at $18 bucks a pop!

wow $18? if you're going to spend that kind of money, you'd might as well purchase rechargeable lithiums such as pilas or something.

thats for the advice guys.... i suppose i'll just wait until the AW C cells come out :)
