I have a NiteRider Minewt bike light and they recently came out with a Minewt.X2 update that makes it twice as bright. They charge $50 for a replacement head unit, which is better than I expected, but I was thinking I could simply swap the emitter in my existing head unit for a better/cheaper end result.
I found this thread where ZipLED did the same thing using a Seoul P4 emitter and had a good result, but that was about a year ago, so I was wondering if there was an emitter in the same form factor out now that would be a better choice.
This is what the original emitter/board on a Minewt looks like:

According to ZipLED, the Minewt battery provides 6V and the 4W LED draws 3V.
Any suggestions?
