Vasp posted this so I went to look.

Hold on to your hats - I saw some "proper" torches on sale in B & Q Enfield today.

The brand is AP Pro Series. I've not heard of them before and I can't find them on the B&Q site.

There are 3 models, but only 2 were on display on my visit:-

1 x AA, 90Lm (not on display, info gleaned from shelf tag)
2 x AA, 120Lm (or maybe 110, I don't remember exactly)
3 x C, 210Lm

Prices are 15.99, 19.99, 29.99 respectively.

The leds are CREE, the 2xAA and the 3xC are both flood-to-throw, tail switches, IPX4, black anodised and come with a 3 year guarantee.

They were all in blister packs so I couldn't try them out. Still, it's encouraging to see the big DIY boys stocking something that CPFers might be interested in.

The lights are at the moment only on sale at the Warehouse outlets not the normal stores(up here in the North is the case anyway).
The small one is in fact a triple cell light and priced here at £14.99.The lights are by Active and in fact I already have the double AA version bought from Arco in there summer sale day last year, bought mine with Vat for a tenner.

For the money with a 3 year ticket a really good nice deal, all lights are rugged and I was so very tempted to get the small one but I just have bought a Nitecore and have a Fenix on its way so I put it back

Here is the double AA cell light which I already had and is the same as B+Q offering. They are offering there range in grey or black but Chester branch just had black. All are focus adjust.

Good on you for the taking the time out to have a gander.

I did indeed see these in the B&Q Warehouse in Enfield. They weren't really on prominent display, just in amongst the own-brands, Energizers and Maglites, and of course quite a bit more expensive than the regular lights most people are used to.

I was tempted at the time but I'm limiting myself to torches that take 18650 and RCR123 (16340).

Actually, having said that, I do have a set of Energizer rechargeable AAs somewhere...
