bernhard - don't be too harsh with peter... he's a really busy man improving our beloved arc ls
so far i have zero complaints about my arcs. i have some aaa's and ls' myself and several that have been given to friends as gifts and none of them has shown any flaws. since i use my flashlights mostly while doing outdoor-stuff they get banged around and tend to malfunction in no time or completely fail after some battery-cycles (like the mini-mag i used before 'i saw the light'
).
on my recent trip to thailand i took an older model arc ls1 with the single AA-cell as edc. we did a 7 day guided jungle-tour in the north (near the golden triangle - beautiful place !) and this light was used as primary camp light every night. we had quite a bit of rain during the first half but it performed better than i would have dreamed
all i had to do was to feed it a fresh el-cheapo heavy duty AA every now and then (i bought a pack of those in a k-mart in bangkok) and it kept running. no flex-failure, no water inside, no battery problems, nada... the only thing i took an inova x5 for was out of curiosity when we did some diving on ko tao.
i can't wait to get my hands on the improved ls2 with the 2-AA clickie-pack - that'll be the ideal edc for my use. with NiMhs or 1000mAh NiCads i'm sure this will make me a happy camper...
sorry for writing all this but i'm so amazed by these little 'pieces-of-art' that i just couldn't resist. i'm sure if there are any problems with an arc-product peter is always there and does his best to make you a happy and proud customer.
