Arc LS battery packs mods

Here is what I want to do.
1st mod. Take one 2xAA bat pack for the arc ls and shorten it to 1xAA. How much do I shorten it in millimeters? Im sure someone must have done it before me so I wouldn’t want to start trial and error.
2nd mod. Can the arc ls series work with 2x123 batteries without any modification to the circuits? I have two clickie tail caps which I ll try and connect them together by removing the kroll from one and sticking the other behind it.

There already is a 1xAA pack which has been discontinued--but you can probably find one on B/S/T. But, the new Rev.2 circuit will not run on one 1.5V AA cell (or not very brightly nor long.) Only the older Rev.1 circuit will take 1.5V input.

Next, no, neither rev of ARC-LS circuit will take 2x123s as input without hugely overdriving the LS and probably leading to its quick death.

Measure the length of a single AA battery and remove that from the 2AA battery pack to get the correct length.
