Hi all,
Thank you for your comments.

HandMeLite

I agree LSH-S looks dimmer in my shot, but actually they are almost same. Maybe you find this a little useful. Regarding the tint, LSL is bluish/purplish in fact.

LEDagent

Arc4 is driven at the brightest setting in my shot. Sorry I didn't mention this in my original post. LS3 lights up broader area evenly than Arc4, but the hotspot is dimmer than Arc4.

chiaroscuro

That's just my Photoshop work. Please don't assume they will be productized.

Lagged2Death

LS3 is an Arc's product which uses 5W LS and was discontinued.
... and yes, that's Watt/Puppy. I'm an audiophile as well as flashaholic /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

***EDIT***
I realized that my LS3 might be exceptionally brighter since it has a very high flux bin 5W (X4T).

OH MY GOSH!!!

KJ! I was looking over your pictures again and i just noticed your home theater system!

Do you have Meridian theater components AND a plasma television?! If i'm not mistaken, these units don't tranfer power through the usuall meathod of: power amplifier to speaker. These speakers recieve a digital signal through fiber optic from a digital reciever/processer. Kind of like your standard reciever/amplifier but through a opitcal cable. The digital signal is then converted to an analog signal INSIDE the speaker which has an internal amplifier. I think his model has the 500W amplifier (EACH speaker) which powers the tweeters, midrange, and internal subwoofer. AMAZING.

People, i'm sorry i'm WAY off topic but you have to understand something. The audio equipment alone can cost an easy 5,000 dollars. The Plaza TV can cost another 5,000. You're looking at beam shots of ONE EXPENSIVE room! hehe...easily $10,000 of equipment in those pictures.

Please prove me wrong. Because you have my dream hometheater in that picture!

Laurence,

Not Meridian (unfortunately), but Linn. So it's probably different from your dream theater /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif My equipments are Linn Unidisk 1.1, AV5103, AV5125 and two KLIMAX SOLO, Wilson Audio Watt/Puppy for front and CUB II for rear and Panasonic Plasma TV.

That's my living room. I had no intent to make a display of these equipments... that's the only place I can show... don't ask about other rooms /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

KJ, nice setup you got there. Also great way to represent the beam shots. The sidespill and overall light output from the LS3 is very impressive.

I like the look and the beam quality of the Arc4+. I am hoping that the Arc5+ can produce the sidespill and overall light capability of the LS3 that you showed in your picture.

KJ,

Is your LS3 driven at standard 333ma current or more ? How you got rid of the donut hole ? Standard NX05 optics too ?

TIA

Klaus

I (and the previous owner) didn't mod it so it should be driven at the standard current level.

The donut hole... certainly, there is (unfortunately). Can't you see it in the pic? It can barely be seen in the pic.

Jeez...now that's *two* reasons I have to envy you. (I have Ikemi/Kairn/3xLK140/AV5140, and haven't ordered an Arc4 yet.)

What's the approximate distance to the wall in your photos?

-L.

Here we go, pic of an ARC4+

No high end audio gear unfortunately /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Glad you get it. Is there any good place to take outdoor pictures?

don't mean to be hot-headed, but please refrain from discussing home-theater stuff here. LOTS of people read this thread and to many of us, reading postings which are completely irrelevent can be annoying as there are already so many postings to read. so be it a Krell, wilson puppy or a sonus faber, please keep the audio stuff in the audio forums or use Private Messages.

thanking you, i am.

The third from the top... VERY nice! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Kj, I too want to thank you for the beam pics which are worth a thousand words. I do like the output of the LS3. I wonder if it's safe to assume that the Arc5 would perform similarly? Too bad Peter couldn't comment on this.

Boy those LSH-S's are a real crap shoot. I see some beam shots such as yours in which they are significantly dimmer then an LSH-P and some where it's hard to tell the difference between the two.

Hey, I've been following the Arc4 in these forums for a while, and I finally got my hands on one. I love it! People I've shown it to seem to be really impressed by it as well, but the sticker price is definitely a shocker. I think it's worth it for such a quality, useful piece of gear though. What the heck, I just love gadgets! Here's some shots I took of my new Arc4+. Enjoy!

Edit: Sorry they're so big- I wanted to make sure the full detail got through. You're all just lucky I didn't post the originals!

Beautiful pictures, Chill - but I'm still going to ask you to reduce the width. 1000 pix is just too wide for many folks. You wont lose much, if any, detail - just crop a bunch of the wood out. Let's keep these things to 700 pixels wide max. We're working on a width "rule," but for now, we just need to be considerate of others.

Thanks,
Darell
