Arc4 software beta test

Nothing new to report from my end. All is going well or has otherwise been reported.

Spoke too soon. The light just went thru another stepdown process due to cell drain. That's normal and works as advertised. What was interesting is that when I pressed the switch from that locked postion, the light dimmed by maybe 1 or 2 levels. Upon releasing the switch, it returned to the stepdown brightness. It's almost like the action of the switch caused a drain or surge. This has never happend on any of my other Arc4 with the latest release software version. On those, if there's not enough juice to step back up, the light doesn't change at all, whereas this new software actually causes it to dim down a level or two.

Hi. I was the programmer on the Arc4 rev3 software. I don't have a copy of the light with the software on it. This would have been the first commercial release of my software, so it would be nice to have. Is there a way I could get one?

P.S. If anyone could use a programmer (preferably using assembly language in or near Phoenix), that would be nice too.

IT was not commercially offered, It never made it out of the Beta stage, Any information you would have to get from Peter Gransee, And arent programmers supposed to have backups of their own software anyway?

He does want to have the product, as far as I understood it.
And, Arcprogrammer, Arc4Rev3 was supposed to be a hardware release, not the software. The software should be named in accordance to the other releases.
So tell us, out of couriosity, what is your background in electronics, especially LED lights?
(no need to tell about programming skill .-)

I do have the software on my computer, but downloading it onto a flashlight and calibrating it required special hardware, which has been seized. I was hoping to get one of the Beta test units. And Peter did refer at the start of this thread to the "Arc4 rev3 software".

I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Arizona State University. That included hardware and software. ArcFlashlight was my introduction to LED lights.

I hope that cleared things up.

There were just 5 units programmed with the new software. Like I said in the other thread, this happened so quickly we just were not prepared. The programmer would like a nice example of the contract he worked on and is asking the beta testers if any of them would be interested in possibly selling or trading for one of their beta units.
