I'm kind of new to flashlights and I'm wondering if there are any lights brighter than Fenix q5 lights that are comparable them in size?

Thank you.

Welcome to CPF. To answer your question, yes there may be.

What models are you looking at? What battery type? What budget are you looking at?

Thank you I'm glad to be here.

I already bought a p3d,p1d,p2d,tk10 and I'm considering a eo1 for times I need low light.

I don't want to spend more than 100.00 a pop.

You should look at the Nitecore D10 and EX10 depending on what battery types you like to use. The two light use the excellent piston design from McGizmo at an excellent price. You can find them at 4sevens.com.

Oh, and welcome to CPF!

best bang for the buck, thats for sure.....but i do like my Nitecore d-10 for the programability, not noticeably less bright either

I am going to check those out...

Thank you.

Are there any more I should know about?

Awesome!:twothumbs:twothumbs:twothumbs

I want one!

Are there more than one edition of that light?

Which one is best if there are?

The AA version is the D10. The CR123 version is the EX10.

That's all so far. These are amazing lights. Great value as well.

How does the d10 measure up to the NiteCore Extreme Infinity Q5 LED Flashlight E3 IBS SET

?

Which would you get?

There are probably a few lights smaller and brighter but I'm sure their runtimes will suffer significantly. For max brightness with decent runtime I don't think you can beat the P1D Q5 in the tiny category.

The D10 / EX10 has much lower lumen output than the NDI, and is just as bright. Look at my signature. I've had some of the best AA lights, and the D10 is my favorite, regardless of cost.

You seem to know your lights...

So I'll take your word for it.

Thanks.

I haven't seen any on ebay...

Do you know of any place cheap?

If you're looking for the NiteCore D10 or EX10 your best bet is probably 4sevens.com. I don't know of any other source for them at the moment.

Pssst.... since you're a CPF member, enter the coupon code CPF8 at checkout for an 8% discount. Also note the free shipping, and I can personally vouch for their excellent customer service.

Some other suggestions for lights in this size range are the LiteFlux LF5XT and the JETBeam Jet-I Pro series (1xAA and 2xAA available). Since you mention the CR123A based lights specifically, I'd also recommend looking at the Jet-II Pro, especially if by "brighter" you mean more throw.

Eric
