Are knife products illegal to export to US ?

US customs is currently attempting to ban one handed opening knives like Kershaw with their speedsafe system so it would behoove you to research importing knives with some considerable diligence. It would truly suck to have a shipment of 10000 or even 1000 knives confiscated by Customs over a minor technicality. Even if their logic is grossly flawed.

Are knife products illegal to export to US ? Are there any limitations to sell knives in America? Thanks for help!

This question would be best answered by a legal authority in your own country (the assumption being that you are trying to export knives from your country to the US).

Most of the people here are not lawyers (and those lawyers may not specialize in the laws governing importation, etc). Discussions of this type often disintegrate into political arguments, flaming, and prove to be generally disruptive.

It really sucks if the shippment is hold by the customs. But im still not sure if the US custom law bans all knive products import. Cause some American friends of mine told me they had pursed some of the knives from abroad. Has anybody ever had bad experience--knives were hold by the US customs?:poke:

Switchblades, spring launched blades and butterfly knives are illegal to import into the U.S. Assisted opening knives are considered switchblades now, apparently.

All other knives should be OK to import into the U.S. State laws may further restrict which knives are legal to carry, but few knives are banned completely.
