Apologies for not knowing this thread is in the realm of Skylumen. Browsing 'What's New' here on CPF does not really make it obvious which sub forum a thread is in. ... ... ...
I know exactly what you mean. I browse 'What's New' on an international forum with Chrome that has on the fly translation, and I find myself replying in English to a thread that is in French or German or Russian or Chinese or Italian or Spanish or... .

"single 18650 throwers": XHP35. Eagletac, Vn, is what I am looking at.

I have one of these with xpg2 PDT and the throw is just amazing.

I don't think that there is anything better (or has been) but it does seem as you surmise that Vinh (or we here?) have gone off pencil-beam throwers.

king of throw single 18650 would be the m25c2vn Turbo. Does 700+kcd with xpg2 PDT and 500+ with xml2 PDT. the regular m25c2vn does 300kcd and the u21vn with xpg2 does 320kcd. The new T21vn does 500kcd with 2 18650 or 2 imr 18340s which equals the size of 1 18650. There is a few choices

You are mostly right, there is only one pencil beam (aspheric) light on his website and it's only a single cell, the Dereelight XSvn. If he was into them he'd have at least one 3 or 4 cell monster. However not sure if he was ever into them, not sure if the Dereelight is the 1st aspheric he's EVER offered or not. I think the aspheric craze in general lived & died with Saab's stuff.

And even the 450K lux of that Dereelight doesn't come close to the 780K of the Eagtac M25C2T which is not an aspheric.

Hello! So asides from the Olight M2X 1x18650 with an intensity of 160,000cd, there isn't anything that can beat it yet? Coz the M23C2T is only 103,000cd. I would have thought there would be a new 1x18650 throw king by now.

I've seen that the Acebeam's K70 has a throw of 1300 meters, however, uses multiple 18650's.

I guess what I am looking for is a "pencil beam" to minimize bounceback from closer trees when I want to identify an animal a couple hundred yards away in the winter woods.

Published light specs are usually deficient in describing the degrees of hotspot and degrees of corona/flood.

I think the info came from readings in the original m25c2vnT thread. I just got One, so I've been reading up on it.

It is 700+k, it is the turbo version, head is I would guess over 4 inches in diameter. Let me see if I can find a pic for comparison, OG recently posted some.

That ratio of head to body size is ridiculous lol. The head is so enormous what are you saving yourself from by having a tiny body? Even a single 26650 body would look a little better.
