Hey guys, Just found this website last week & likewise after reading it purchased both a 6pl & g2l a few days ago. Are they really waterproof up to 30 meters as www.flashlightreview.com states? I have searched the forum in hope that somebody has already answered it but have yet to get a specific 100% sure answer. Thank you for any help.

They are not dive lights. If you keep the o-rings cleaned and lubed, they should be good for a swim however.

Supposedly. But unless SureFire specifies the term "waterproof" with a depth rating, their typical "weatherproof" lights can only be considered "splashproof".

i dont want this to sound rude at all.....but if you do a search for that there are several threads on how water proof those lights are.

I would not hesitate to take a 6PL underwater once I'd confirmed the o-ring seals were clean, intact and sufficiently lubricated.

However, the Nitrolon TailCap is generally less tight fitting - I'd replace it with a Clickie such as Z49/Z59 before intensionally taking it underwater.

Note as mentioned that SureFire do not rate their flashlights as waterproof so they could well be a fish out of water so to speak... If one doesn't leak, it likely won't when well maintained.

I thought all Surefire lights were rated 1ATM (33ft)?
No. This blanket rating has never been the case.
Like SureFire's product range the situation is just as complicated and varied.
Unless the packaging or manual states otherwise on a model-specific basis SureFire use the term weatherproof.
