Are there any longer runtime LED's I can use for a custom ARC AAA

I would like to extend the runtime on a arc aaa, is this possible? I am willing to sacrifice some brightness for this but not lower than 3 lumens.

This could probably be done if you could access the AAA circuit and change the bias to 20mA to the led instead of 40-45. This could work well with the new DS led that Peter is using.
