I have a few different brands of automatic night lights that have a sensor that turns them on when its dark and off when there is light in the room. The lights will have a flicker usually when the room is dim or has low light. One reason why I bought a few different brands of night lights is because I thought more expensive ones don't flicker but they still do. The night lights use the C7 bulbs. I've seen the led C7 replacement bulbs but I'm not sure if they would work in automatic night lights. Any suggestions, thanks.

I think that the night lights are at their threshold of where they turn on and off. When they come on it adds more ambient light and then turns themselfs off because there's too much light then they think that it's too dark and turns ithemselves back on again and the cycle repeats. Try some of the slightly frosted scotch tape over the sensor. Maybe that will reduce enough light to the CDS sensor to shift the on/off point. If that doesn't work try a 2nd layer of tape. Or you could use some black electrical tape and partially cover the light sensor. The LED replacement lights should work ok. My guess is that they would shift the on/off point too. I have found that the LED nightlight bulbs that Walmart has to be inferior and I was looking directly at one when it died. Didn't have them very long either. General rule of thumb: If there's writing on the side of the bulb it's ok to use. If not, don't buy it. Home Depot's does, Walmarts do not. The ones at Walmart have 2 bulbs per package and one is blue and the other is green. Home Deport only has white and I don't remember if there are 1 or 2 per package. Get one package and give it a try. If you like the results buy some for all your night lights.

I tried this, and it killed the LED bulb. I only use the LED
replacements in nightlights with manual on/off switch.

I use the AmerTac model # 71381 LED night lights. Has a switch on the side Green, Off, Blue. Mounts pretty flush to the wall. I keep them on green because it's brighter than the blue. Have them all over the place. Don't even really need a flashlight to navigate at night.:candle:  I'm pretty sure I got them at Walmart.
