Had a fully charged AW17670 in a vital gear FB2 w/malkoff VME head and M60 and the other day I went to click on and nothing. I put a spare AW17670 into it and not problem. When I went home and tested the voltage it was zero, I tried a couple of other batteries to make sure my voltmeter wasn't bad and that was fine.

I am not a very battery savvy kind of guy other than knowing the safety precautions of Li-ion cells and so my question is what do I do with this fully discharged cell? Is it safe to try and charge? Can I even charge it at this point?

If it is at 0 volts then the protection circuit may have kicked in. Try resetting the PTC by placing the cell in your charger for a few seconds then check the voltage again. If the voltage in 3.0 or higher go ahead and continue to charge the cell but keep an eye on it.

Thanks I will try that in the morning.

How long did it take to do that ?

Have you checked your light for parasitic drain while turned off ?

Or maybe that cell has a faulty protection circuit and you shouldn't use it ? How old is that cell ?
.

Unsure how long it took. Not sure how to check for parasitic loss. Battery can't be more than three months old and no more 5 charges on it.
