I just purchased four of these new AW 2600 mah 18650 with the new style of tops. Does anyone besides me see this new design a bad one. The point of contact on the positive side is concave and in soon lights has trouble making contact?

Not sure about actual use but when I saw the pics I decided to stay away from them and hunt for other cells.
They just look like they are going to give you contact issues in some lights don't they.
I doubt I'll ever know for sure personally one way or the other since I'm not buying them.

Seems like a lot of trouble just for the heck of it. Recessing the + end and adding dots to the - end.

These seem to be standard on the high amperage models, so my guess is its a safety feature (minimizing accidental shorts).

They don't work in my Jetbeam or my Megalennium, but work fine in my other lights that have springs on the + end.

Did you do the "blob-of-solder-fix" on the contacts of the Megalennium?

my 2600s do not fit in my tk11 R2.. it appears I would have to peel off the label.

wow, tolerance are tight.

My Deree DBS v3 3SD doesn't work with with 2600 model, anybody having the same issue here?

I'm assuming these are good to go with the Malkoff drop-ins as they have a spring but, can anyone confirm for me?

2600mah + M60LL would be AWESOME!

Thanks in advance!

I am about to buy those batteries to put in my MD4.

I also recently bought 4 of the new 2600 cells.

MG PLI - No problem.
Zebralight H60w - works fine.
Olight M20 Premium - No worries.
Jetbeam Jet-IIIM - doesn't work, though it would easily be fixed.

I didn't realise this was a big problem. 3 out of 4 of my 18650 lights work fine with these cells without doing anything.
For my Jet-IIIM I can easily use a new 2600 cell just by adding a 1mm x 8mm magnet to the +ve end of the battery.

On my lights with magnetic switches, using an extra magnet causes constant ON. I guess I will have to add some solder to the battery and make my own tip!

Anyone know if AW is gonna make upgraded 18650's with a normal battery tip?

Dennis.

the III-M is one of the lights I have qualms with putting magnets on. if the magnet shifts, it'll short the battery.

Yeah, I've taken a close look at the head and can see the potential problem - for now I'm just using the 2200mAh cells in my Jet-IIIM and the 2600mAh in my H60w, MG PLI MCE and M20 Premium. I might consider adding a blob of solder on the Jet-IIIM +ve contact, but the 2200mAh cells are working fine at the moment.

I love the cell performance but hate the design. No disrespect meant toward AW himself but whoever decided on the 3 bump arrangement must have assumed that all flashlights used spring contacts.....oops! :ironic: I would like to purchase some more of these but I've been forcefully restraining myself until they're squared away. I've already slightly modded two lights just to be able to use them but no more.
