Do you guys think the little "nubbies" on the negative end of the AW 2900Mah 18650s are excessively tough on tailcap springs? When I screw down my tailcaps the springs seem to catch on the nubbies and you can hear it quite loudly . sounds like the spring is catching on the nubbies for 1/2 a turn at a time and then releasing only to do it again on the next turn of the tailcap. Seems like it is gonna cause more wear over time ?

I know exactly what you are saying because I was wishing just today that the springs were wound in the other direction. I don't know if it is any harder on them but it sure makes twisting the light the opposite of smooth.

I've actually thought about finding a super thin spacer to put on top of the battery but I haven't done that.

Is it possible to bend the sharp end of the spring so it is rounded to stop it catching on the dimples. I've just checked and the springs on my better lights (McClickie) is quite smooth.

I Think no matter which way the spring is wound it would hang when screwing on or screwing off?

I am actually considering using a dremel tool and carefully grinding the nubs down about 1/2 their height.

what do you guys think? Bad idea?
