Anyone do a real world test with there light with the new 18650 2600mAH to see how much more run time they get over the old 2200 mAH?

One thing to keep in mind is that the AW 2200mah is available with a button top while the AW 2600mah is only available with a flat top. Might not matter in some flashlights but I learned the hard way that they won't work in an EagleTac T10LC2.

They are a vast improvement compared to the 2200mAh cells and the best ones available IMHO. I'm using them in my U2s and Kromas and they are great!
:party:That graph shows a 60% improvement in runtime over the older version, for a "20%" grain in label capacity.
Edit: Some interesting comments in that light-reviews.com thread about the particulars of what makes a protection circuit trigger (i.e. a specific current draw is necessary in addition to a set voltage value).

Anybody tried AW's new P-18650 cells, 2600 mAh?

AW P-18650 cell:

Just came out a few weeks ago. I only used the older 2200 mAh version and it's OK. This one is 2600 mAh. I figure I get 7.4V @ 2600 mAh or 19.2 Wh, this is better than 4x123 primaries runtime-wise.

I want to use them in this lite, pictured in the middle. Malkoff M60-12V in Leef body:

These batteries are very good performers. Here are my test results (tested with CBA II).

Great performers and you don't need a magnet either. I use these in my higher amperage lights that benefit from the extra capacity.

Question, given that the new 18650 are flat-top, can you use them in a 2x18650 lite?

Why did AW make them flat top, anyway?

As long as they make contact with the drop in they should be fine. They have dimples on the bottom of the cell to make contact in series.

They stack in series nicely. No problems there.

I'm up to 6 of these new cells now and I'm very pleased with them. I ran some very unscientific tests and was getting 6-7 minutes more with the M6 1185. It was nice to see a real world increase.

ahhhh! Thanks for the link!! lovecpf

found another one with tabs for soldering on Ebay HERE

perhaps better if you are going to build a battery pack!
