AW RCR123's won't charge?

I have a few AW123's that I got a few months ago. I charged them and put them in the case for the light they went with (Surefire weaponlight on an AR15).

I wanted to try a new pill for my DBS that runs off 2 123's last night and they shut off after a few seconds. Hmmmm. I checked the charge, and they were down. I put them on my 139 charger all evening, the light turned green showing they were charged, but they only show ~3.5 volts on the DMM?

The charger works. I just finished charging some AW 18650's and they're 4.2 volts.

Are these batteries no good? I think I have one cycle on them. That's it.

I'm surprised the charger would show green if they were only at 3.5 volts. I'd double check the DMM and check for clean contacts on the batteries. Since the WF-139 does is not actually set up for RCR123's has it been modded or are you just using spacers? You might try a different charger - the WF-138 is a good one for these.

Spacers. I charged these batteries, and the ones in the weaponlight, on this charger when I first received them with no problems.

The DMM is working. I charged an 18650 on the 139, checked it with the DMM and it showed ~4.2 volts.

Update: I took the batteries and charger to work today. I tried charging them again and it worked this time. They went up to ~4.15 volts. I've never had this happen before.:shrug:
