This happened to me once as well. My response was 'Congratulations, you just bought yourself a $60 knife.' He paid. Sometimes people need to learn to respect other people's property.

sometimes its not the respect part...its sensibility on the practicality of tools. I've been through the same thing, except the guy cleaned out the lint and fingerprints on it before it was returned to me. Did he use it as a screwdriver? no he didn't...he used it to pry out the bolt from the wall to get his office door open
