Actually, given my recent interest in "throw" and beamwidth, I'm much more interested in the outside of the beam than the inside.

I only mean that lately I've taken more of an interest in the means rather than the end...in other words, the configuration, shape (particularly narrowness), penetration, and other features that make a light beam visible (from the outside) rather than what the beam looks like when projected on the wall or an object. Specifically, I'm far less interested in rings, donuts, or lines in a projected beam than I am in the tightness and brightness of the beam on it's way to it's target. I think if I could have a light generating a very narrow beam, almost laser like (but that's a little too tight), with a green exterior to the beam and a very bright white hotspot, that might be an almost ideal light for my purposes right now. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
