I guess I am not the only one who is struggling with the following:

My first Peak was a Matterhorn 3led keychain body. Because of the fact that the base of the body is a button with a spring, it always takes several turns to activate. (in contrast to an ARC AAA which is on or off with - say - a quarter turn of it's head.
So: ARC = fast to switch on/off, Peak is sloooooow to put on/off.

More recently, I got some lug-style Matterhorns, and these are far more user friendly, faster to activate.

The problem seems that not all Peaks can be had with a lug-style body, so my Baltic remains a PITA to switch on/off (turn turn turn turn turn turn turn, ok - switch off: turn turn turn turn turn turn turn...

Is there a solution for this? Something like screw you can put in?

Many thanks for any solution.

Kind regards and enjoy the weekend,
Joris

It has to do with the spring loaded negative contact in the bottom of the body. I was thinking of drilling it out and running a tap through the brass fitting so I can run a stainless screw in it to take the place of the spring. Yes, I'll make sure the tip will be very smooth thanks to my Dremel.

I think Peak should sell such plugs for their keychain models. It would make a lot of sense and I guess it is not difficult for them to manufacture.

Kind regards,
Joris

Have you considered getting one of the optional momentary switches? I find them very useful for my Peak lights. They allow you to turn the light on very quickly & easily.

Hello,

My Baltic has a momentary switch, as most of my Peaks do. It is the very same problem with the momentary switch as with the standard keychain setup: you also have the spring loaded button at the base that calls for several turns before switching on or off.

I also found the momentary switch not to work well with Matterhorns and Baltics(1AAA): poor contact and flickering. They work well however in my Pacific 2AAA, McKinley and Mediterranean.

Kind regards,
Joris
