Ok, im gonna be picky here, but i know exactly what i want, i've been searching for awhile now, and nothing. All i want it is a battery case to hold 4x123A. But, i want it to be small, (not otter box sizeD), Water proof (o-ring seal will be fine, im not diving with it), and i want the batteries to FIT (not these "hold 4 AA, AAA, 123A, etc") Just a nice small case i can slip in my pocket, and not worry about the batteries getting wet if something happens. Any suggestions?
I've also heard that APS film canisters will hold 2 nicely, but are they available in any waterproof format, or could i add an o-ring? Also, do the batts fit tight in these or is there rattling around?
Thanks for helping a newbie!:)

Kaidomain is your prayer answered.

Designed to hold 2 x CR123, back to back them and they hold 4.

I'll let you do the searching.

How about a combination of these two, 4 batts, side by side, and waterproof, and just slightly bigger than the batts, no bigger than necessary.

You know, that AA holder from 123's would be great, and I would order one today.
But that one from inanycase looks good. I actually just ordered one. I have a spare battery for my P1D-CE connected to the light for travelling. But, i also usually have my L4, A19 and/or Ti-PD (now that I have one!) with me, and this is going to be a great way to always have plenty of spares. Will review when it comes in.

How bout another light? I find another light is the best holder of batteries!

The Batuca's are almost exactly what im looking for, great for AA's, but since 123's are shorter, they have too much room to slide around. Well, since i've posted this i got an email response from Amondo Tech, they have sweet looking cases for their AA's that are just like the Batuca's and they should have them in 123 size in about a month or two. I think im gonna hold out for them, and they also told me they'll sell their Titanium cells already packaged in the case. Seems like someone was listening.

The Batuca cases have a ledge about half way down each slot. The 123 cell rests on this ledge and is held quite firmly and easy to grab. Only AAA's tend to fit a little loose.

I really like these cases because they hold all my cell types. Also different colors can be used for charged and discharged cells.

I'm not sure about exactly which film cans you're referring to, but some time ago I read a couple threads that mentioned plastic film cans for this purpose and I got some from a "1 hr film developer" shop.

When viewed from above they are oval shaped. Two cr123s fit inside without any rattle.

I put two cells in one, put the cover on and stretched a piece of high quality, clear, 1 7/8" wide 3M Packing Tape over the top and down the sides to keep the cap from getting knocked loose in my bike bag. I carried it that way for a few months. After Katrina I moved this same sealed film can from my bike bag to my fanny pack which I carried everywhere I went when I left the house. The bag also had money, TP, ID, meds, etc. I carried the bag with the sealed film can for weeks.

After the power finally came back on (6 weeks) I took the can out of the bag and eventually I found it in a pants pocket that had just gone through a full wash cycle at the laundry. It never leaked a bit -- even though it had been sealed and carried around for months. I was kind of blown away.

Ok, im lost again, i just got some APS (oval-shaped) film canisters, and there's no way my batteries are fitting in there. I can wedge them about halfway down, but the lid won't go on again, is there a certain brand of film canister or batteries that fit in there?

scottaw, ask the film developers if they have Kodak Advantix canisters. I use them and they work well for two. You will need to tape them as Sub_Umbra has suggested since a gentle squeeze will pop the top off.

Have you considered the SureFire SC3 spares carrier?

It holds four SF123A batteries. I have a couple of them and find them highly compact, extremely secure and durable. O-ring sealed.

It's the one on the right:

The SC3 can also hold a spare Lamp Assembly (MA02/MN01/MN02/MN03)

Note that the SF123A's are secured and do not rattle (regardless of whether there is a Lamp Assembly stored)

Aha, yea that's odd that only kodak cases work, but i got a few of them for now. I think i gonna stick with them for normal use, and it looks like surefire is the way to go when i need waterproof (kayaking). Oh well, maybe i'll learn to mold plastic and make some of my own.

Wasn't there a member here making metal ones? They looked really sharp and were shiny. They are water tight and could be fit onto a keychain.
