battery fitment in a romisen rc-f4

I have a romisen rc-f4, i usually use cr123a but i wanted to try out the 3.7v 17670, which i was told would fit. I just received the batteries, they are trustfire and do not fit in the chamber. I believe if i take off the outer coating of the battery than it would fit. Is it safe to do so?

I think the outer wrapper may actually hold the protection circuit in place.

If it does, it's a bad idea to remove it.

ahh man, your probably right, all it needs to be is like less than a mm smaller for it to fit. What a waste.
