Hi All.

New to the game, have some q's:

I need a 14.x volt (I guess) battery for my bFlex/3*Q5 setup. I will need at least 2 full hours runtime, preferably 3 hours but weight is of course an issue. Should I avoid (exploding?) Li-Ion and opt for a Ni-Mh? Or? What do I need to take into account regarding "discharge rate"? I think I will be running at 750 or 1000 mA?

Battery suggestions (maybe with links) and some advice are most welcome.

Thanks in advance - Morten

4x18650 lion cells 2200mahr will get you between 3.5-4 hrs and it will not explode (at 750ma).

you'll need 12 nimh AA to get to there but a bit heavier. A pain unless u buy ready made packs. Or just use 16 AA cells and get a 10 cell charger and the radio shack two x 8 cell holder. if you have the older bflex which can take 25V you should be ok

since it looks like you are just starting . if budget is a concern get a 7 cell nimh pack + a maxflex ( try batteryspace for the 7cell 3500 - 3800 pack)

I already ordered the bFlex, so boosting is no good. Budget is a minor issue, I want a good battery right away, so I can upgrade leds only later on.

Li-Ion is the way to go? Any good EU vendors? Customs issues from US......

Btw. after seing the post on the Q5/R2 comparison (one day too late :ironic:)
I LIKE the R2's. Well, maybe I need to order a few from Cutter or the GP?

Thanks guys.
