I hear advice to not use battery magnets if you need to turn your flat tops into button tops and I can see why if they slip and short something out.

Would there be anything wrong with magnets that have those three raised dimples on each side like what AW does to his flat-top's negative end and also with heat shrink insulation around the perimeter?

Steve.

heat shrink would be a good way to reduce shifting, remember also on impact the neo magnets will shatter. even break off small pieces of nickle plating. now look at that gap between the + (top) and the - (can) there at the head of the battery. a nice loose chunk of nickle plating would do wonders there :grin2:
sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do , and do the best you can at it. you know the problems, and address them as best as possible, and go on.
myself i choose altering the light item, or soldering a small bump on it, being VERY fast and carefull about soldering it.
