Battery Question

Are LIR123A batteries the same size as CR123A batteries? I was looking at a web site that listed alot of their lights as using LIR123A batteries. I was wondering if regular CR123A batteries could be used in them.

LIR123 cells are Lithium Ion Rechargeable CR123 sized cells, so are nominal voltage of 3.7v vs 3.0v for primary CR123.

As LuxLuthor suggests, whether a light works with both RCR123 and CR123 cells depends on the light.

There are "3 volt" regulated LIR123s, but while the chance of a light working with them is greater than with normal unregulated "3.7v" LIR123s, it's still not a given. Make sure the light supports them.
As for the size, they are the same (as far as I can see).
