Does anyone know where I can get a list of battery sizes in CPF to normal parlance?
I.e. 10440 = AAA battery.

I found this on Wikipedia but it ain't a great help. It does show a crapload of information like ANSI and IEC 60086 names, which I may use in future but not now.

And to go abit further, who came up with the name 18650? It appears that it is neither ANSI nor IEC 60086 standard. CPF standard? :shrug:

P.S.
I am fully aware that a CR123 battery usually refers to LiMnO2 and not LiFePO4, but let's ignore battery chemistry for the sake of sanity

10440 = 10x44mm (AAA)
14500 = 14x50mm (AA)
16340 = 16x34mm (RCR123a)
18650 = 18x65mm ('0' denotes that it's cylindrical)

This is useful. I wonder who came up with this nomenclature though. Thanks alot!
I don't know exactly when it came into common use, but it is an industry standard for lithium ion rechargeable cells. For example do a Google search for "ICR18650", "IMR18650" or "IFR18650" and see the variety of results you get.

Note:

ICR = lithium cobalt oxide
IMR = lithium manganese dioxide
IFR = lithium iron phosphate
