I just bought a Beamshot green beam 100 and the laser looks like its not straight , looking straight down one side the beam is off a lot is it normal ?

This is unlikely to be a direct manifestation of Einstein's theory re. the curvature of space-time. It is more likely that your laser needs tuning to eliminate the weak lumens effect. Incorrectly-tuned lasers can suffer seriously from this - the lumens can become so weak they just dribble out of the front and fall down on the floor at your feet.

It sounds to me like the beam is crooked. Could be the collimator, the concentrator, the crystals, even a filter or the whole diode+optics assembly.

you're not in sweden near that black hole creating hadron collider are you? actually i'm not that familiar with lasers, by crooked you mean that when you hold the battery case level, the beam comes out at a different angle? if thats the case, from what i understand it would have to be the last crystal, or the collimator, as anything closer to the diode would result in almost no light coming out or a very diffuse beam pattern, but since you haven't said it was out of focus, or less powerful than it should be i would assume its the last crystal slightly out of allignment, causing the beam to hit the collimator off center and therefore come out mostly focused but at a funny angle, but again, i don't know much about lasers, just a little about physics and geometry.

Yeah, logically it is probably that the outermost collimator is crooked or otherwise misaligned. Didn't think about that, good thinking G2L man

This is common with green lasers... many lasers from wicked lasers and CNI (I think) are known to have slightly crooked green beams. It comes from the crystals not being perfectly lined up. I'm not sure how much better a replacement would be. If you want to put a laser on a gun, you should probably get one with windage/elevation adjustments.

will

The greeenbeam 1000 has elevation and windage adjustments. Did you try adjusting it? Maybe one of the adjustment screws was at it's limit.

I did not know this. Good question though... you probably shouldn't send a scope back to the factory for being off-zero.:crackup::crackup:

I looked and there were no adjustments on it and it didn't say anything in the instruction book either .
