Beamshots G2L vs G2+DX1447 Cree P4

Hello All!
Thought you might find these two beamshots fun. I compared my G2L with new Surefire Aluminum replacement head on with FM35 to my other G2 with Aluminum replacement head with the DX1447 Cree P4 drop in. You definitely see a difference in light output and that the DX1447 is much brighter. I thinks some have said 140 Lumens on the DX1447. The G2L is about 80 Lumens as many of you well know.

The other thing I wanted to point out is the MiniMag I have with the Niteize 1 Watt IQ upgrade with a old FM35 filter installed in a MiniMag beam fitter. See the photos for a closer look. I took an broken FM 35 body with the filter in it and sanded it down to fit into a MiniMag red beam fitter. Looks cool and does a great job of giving me Night vision red in addition to my G2L with FM35.

I was wondering about this, if I get a regular G2 (nitrolon head) and put this drop in inside, do I have to worry about heat issues? Is it heat-regulated to automatically dim the light if temperatures get too high? Will the lexan lens melt? I was thinking about getting a regular yellow G2 and the 1447 to put in my car.
