Benefits of carrying two EDC lights

This idea came to my mind very late last night but I think I should tell this to all of us.

I think I'll be moving to carrying two same battery using EDC lights. Why?
Imagine that you have an E01 with L0D Q4 for example.

You will have a backup light if the other goes:poof:.
You will have a spare battery with you in the other light.
You will have extra long runtime for emergency etc (E01).
You will have enough output for most tasks (L0D)
You will have a light to lend to your friend if he/she needs one.

I just had never been thought this before.

Please continue listing more benefits here, and if you think that this concept has some major disadvantages, please share that opinion too.

My EDC carry lights are a NovaTac 85T and an IncenDio. Both CR123/RCR123 single cell lights for that very reason.

As any true flashaholic, I constantly vary up what I carry and how I carry it. But one good combination I have come upon is LOD + E01 (previously E0). I keep a NiMH in the LOD, and a L92 in the other. If for whatever reason I do not carry the E01, I have two other E0's with L92's installed close by in my bag or desk. The 5mm light then serves as backup/spare cell carrier.

I typically carry multiple lights, but I don't limit myself to choices in those lights based on battery size. If you choose just AAA batteries, you limit yourself on output, if you limit yourself to just 123 cells, then all of your lights will be a bit bigger than necessary. I usually carry an ARC AAA-P and a Fenix P1 CE, and if I need something with more output, I'll toss a 2 or 3 cell incan Surefire in my pocket as well. If I'm going to be away from my battery supply for any significant period of time, I'll also bring along a spare change of batteries, just in case.

I see no need for more than 1 quality light for edc.

Unless you have a job that needs it.

Untill this year I used to EDC only x2 fauxtons and nothing else. One went :poof: and so I was only left with one measly keychain light for emergencies. Since then I carry 1 or sometimes 2 aaa lights aswell.

Typically I only EDC one, a Fenix P2D. This does not include, however, the Streamlight Nano on my keychain, nor the cell phone if needed.

Also, I have 2 glotoobs in my car, as well as a 3Dmag and a 2AA everready light. So I figure if my Fenix goes out, I still have some wiggle room. My nano can get me back to my car. But, living in a city, it's not like I really am in areas without some sort of illumination, even at 2am.

I don't like sticking lights in my mouth so I usually EDC:

a 3-AAA headlamp
a button-cell light on my key chain
a single AA pocket light
a larger hand-held depending on destination/activity/output

They all fit comfortably in pants/jacket pockets, holster, or fanny pack.

So you can look for your #1 EDC with your #2 EDC :nana:

True story in fact, once i was running away from a skunk and dropped my p3d, took out my G2(w/r2 mod) and found it in the woods:whistle:

I normally carry two lights ... one on my keychain and one on me. Sometimes I don't carry my primary light because of what I wear, but I always carry my keys (unless my lady kick me out of the house).

i normally carry 2 on my body, with others in other bags. redundancy of core items (knife, fire, light) is always a good thing.

There is no chance you'd catch me with just one EDC light on me. No way no how.

Lights fail, get lost, etc etc. A second light gives me that comfort that I'm ready in the unlikely event of a flashlight failure.

I carry only two, and not always.

In my body (pocket), Lumapower IncenDio. In my backpack, Fenix L2D.

If I am without my backpack, so I carry only one light.

Titan left front pants, avatar, right front, plus a Photon. Spare CR2's at work, in the truck, and a bunch at home. Less common bat form factor, but has worked well for me.

I agree, but I can make do with the light off my cell phone if that should happen.
I feel that all cell phones should come with lights built in, its a good addition to a cellphone and a very useful feature. My cell phone has a light but it is sub 2 lumens unfortunately.
